Can Your Old Cranes Be Modernized

One thing is certain about older overhead cranes: The bones of the cranes that were suitable for the job 50 years ago are likely to be good enough for today.
However, the components, on the other hand, such as the end trucks, wheels, drives, motors, hoists, and electrical controls need to be changed. A good modernization effort also will cover repainting, rewiring, crane parts and any needed repairs. Cranes are often modified to suit the needs of the user. For these reasons, it is safe to say that no two cranes are exactly alike.

Modernization also provides an opportunity to upgrade the crane operations with new technological advancements.
In any upgrading program of the crane, it is important to have an understanding of the importance of buying the genuine crane parts. Each different crane part can play a vital role in keeping your overhead crane in good working condition.
It is also important to have a good working relationship with some crane parts supplier who stock a large inventory of all kinds of genuine crane parts such as P&H crane parts and Kobelco crane parts. As counterfeit crane parts cannot be easily detected with just a visual inspection, it is very difficult to notice whether the crane parts are genuine or fake as it is done very well on the outside. Most of the fake crane parts that went through a fatigue tests produce a lot of worrying results.
Customers should avoid counterfeit parts by sourcing all crane components through official supply channels, such as Kobelco crane parts or P&H crane parts.

The crane owner must be aware that any fault in the crane can lead to not only major damage to the crane itself but it can also harm the environment. With frequent usage of the crane, over time, there is bound to be some damage and the parts might wear out and will require replacement.
At the first sign of a faulty crane, an inspection of the crane must be carried out immediately to detect the fault and sourcing of the crane parts and replacement should be done at once. Failure to act in time can lead to complete equipment failure which can lead to unwanted down time.
Safety ultimately depends on the proper use of the crane and the crane should be maintained in tip top working condition with genuine crane parts.
